CARE Hospital was originally Fredericksburg Regional Veterinary Emergency Center, which first opened its doors in 2005. FRVEC developed because of the need for a highly functioning emergency hospital in the Fredericksburg area to be available for patients when their primary care veterinarians were not open. Our goal was to be an extension of your primary care veterinarian, and we wanted clients and their pets to have available that same high quality medical care during the over-night, weekend and holiday times, without having to travel long distances to receive it.
FRVEC opened within Confederate Ridge Animal Hospital, located on Route 1, providing emergency services to the Fredericksburg regional area until May of 2010. At that time, the Central Park location had been secured and was remodeled to the state of the art facility you see now.
Not only was the building remodeled and expanded, but so was the vision for our hospital. In 2014, FRVEC brought in specialty services, taking our first steps toward bringing advanced veterinary medicine to Fredericksburg and answering to the needs of the referring veterinarians while advancing patient care.
With the current availability of our five specialty departments, FRVEC transformed into Central Animal Referral and Emergency Hospital in March of 2015. As CARE Hospital continues to grow its services and expand its capabilities, our mission remains solid and our commitment remains firm in providing excellence in veterinary medicine for every patient. We ensure that every pet and their families is provided exceptional care with the highest level of compassion.
